Dr. Hittinger appeared on Radio Maria. with Fr. Joseph Howard every Saturday morning at 10:00 am to discuss Crossing the Threshold of Hope, by Saint John Paul II.
The John Paul II Forum co-sponsored with the Political Science Department, a lecture by Dr. Hittinger on “John Paul II and Tocqueville and the Freedom of Religion.”
Dr. Hittinger spoke on “John Paul II and the strength of mercy,” a talk to Franciscan associates, Franciscan Life Center, Lowell, Michigan. He distributed copies of JP2’s encyclical on Mercy.
Father Witold Kania, Katowice, Poland, spoke on “Patriotism in the Thought of Saint John Paul II.” at the University of St. Thomas.
Hittinger completed a 400 page manuscript on the thought of John Paul II entitled “Reforging the Link with God: A Commentary on Redemptor Hominis.”
Dr. Hittinger spoke on “Tocqueville on the role of religion in Democracy,” a Lecture presented at the University of Silesia/Katowice, Poland.
Dr. Hittinger spoke on “John Paul II and three principles on the vitality of culture,” lecture presented at a conference of on Global immigration and the problem of culture, Catholic University of Lublin, in the very classroom used by John Paul II when he was a professor in Poland.
The John Paul II Forum for the Church in the Modern World sponsored its annual Summer Workshop this year especially for the formation of educators and those in parish ministries. The theme was “Love Unleashed through Suffering: The Healing Message of Salvifici Doloris and Its Precedents in Catholic Tradition.” The conference took place at St. Mary’s Seminary and the University of St. Thomas, Houston. The presenter was Dr. Dawn Eden Goldstein, author of Experiencing God’s Mercy.
Dr. Hittinger gave a talk on his pilgrimage to Poland entitled “Suffering and the Wit-ness of the Polish Church,” at the Summer Workshop.

The John Paul II forum co-sponsored a conference with the International Christian Studies Association on “The Future of Religion: Re-Enchantment of the World?” Hilton, Pasadena, California. Dr Hittinger, Father James V Schall and others gave papers on John Paul II. A special journal issue of the thought of John Paul II will be forthcoming.

August – September
Dr Hittinger begins teaching a class on John Paul II at St Mary’s Seminary and distributes a number of encyclicals and books by John Paul II to the seminarians and lay students. Hittinger also gives encyclicals by John Paul II to students at Houston Baptist University.
Piotr Jaroszyński, Professor and Chair of the Department of the Philosophy of Culture at the Catholic University of Lublin, Poland gave three talks for audiences in Houston. He spoke on “San Juan Pablo II y la Nueva Evangelización,” to a Hispanic audience (event co-sponsored by la Asociacion Guadalupana). (sept 26) He presented a colloquium entitled “John Paul II and Lublin Thomism” to the philosophy faculty and students. He also spoke on Saint John Paul II and the New Evangelization on Tuesday September 27 7:00 pm at The University of St. Thomas.

April 28 Dr. John Hittinger participated in Holy Ghost Catholic Church’s Spring 2015 Spiritual Renewal Lecture Series speaking on “St. Pope John Paul II: Poet & Philosopher and His Teachings on the Work of the Holy Spirit.”
May-June Dr. Hittinger produced for the International Catholic University a series of videos containing 16 lectures on St. John Paul II which seek to make known the wisdom of the encyclicals of this beloved pope. The videos aim at familiarizing the viewer with the structure, terms, and arguments of the texts in order to appreciate their significance for philosophy and theology, and their application to contemporary culture.
June 8-12 The John Paul II Forum for the Church in the Modern World sponsored its annual summer workshop this year especially for the formation of educators and those in parish ministries. Rolland Millare and Dr. John Hittinger led sessions on Evangelium Vitae (The Gospel of Life) at St. Mary’s Seminary in Houston June 8 to 11 with a special session at the University of St. Thomas on June 12.
October Thomas Aquinas: Teacher of Humanity published by the Cambridge Scholars Press Co-edited by Dr. John P. Hittinger and Daniel C. Wagner,. it contains essays by the late Father Dewan, OP and an essay on Aquinas by the late Cardinal George. There is a dedication page for Fr. Brezik, founder of the Center and the volume concludes with a homily by Father Brezik on St Thomas Aquinas.

October 17-19 Co-Sponsored Thomas Aquinas: Teacher of Humanity. This international conference was attended by some of the top scholars in the world, and high ranking Church officials such s Cardinal George, Cardinal DiNardo, Bishop Sorondo, prelate secretary of the Papal Academy of St Thomas.
